This calculator works out your net take-home pay in Cyprus after all three mandatory deductions: income tax (progressive bands from 0% to 35%), Social Insurance (8.8% of gross, capped at €68,904 of insurable earnings) and the General Healthcare System contribution known as GESY (2.65%, capped at €180,000). It uses the 2026 post-reform rates, which raised the tax-free threshold from €19,500 to €22,000.

It handles 12, 13 or 14 salary payments, pension/provident fund deductions, the 20% and 50% expat tax reliefs, and lets you compare two offers side by side. Your income tax is calculated on your gross salary after deducting Social Insurance, GESY and any pension contributions, which are tax-deductible. The first €22,000 of taxable income is tax-free following the January 2026 reform. The remaining income is taxed progressively: 20% from €22,001 to €32,000, 25% up to €42,000, 30% up to €72,000, and 35% above that. Social Insurance is 8.8% of gross (capped at €68,904 of insurable earnings) and the General Healthcare System (GESY/ΓεΣΥ) contribution is 2.65% (capped at €180,000).
After the 2026 reform, the personal income tax-free threshold rose from €19,500 to €22,000 per year.
Employees pay income tax, Social Insurance (8.8%) and GESY (2.65%). Employers pay their own Social Insurance and GESY plus contributions to other state funds.
